Bio

Dean Lee received his Bachelor of Architecture from Carnegie Mellon University. He has worked in various architecture firms including FSY Architects, JSFA Architects and VTBS Architects. While at FSY Architects, as the Project Architect, Dean earned a Historic Preservation Award from the Los Angeles Conservancy for the Orpheum Theater. In addition, he worked on many award-winning projects including the Purnell Center for the Arts, Madrid Theater, Nate Holden Performing Arts Center and Temecula Theater. Currently, Dean is an Associate at Barton Myers Associates, Inc.

Although Dean began his CSE seminar in 2007, he has previous experience in teaching. He taught Computer Aided Drafting at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising ("FIDM") from 2003 to 2005. While at FIDM, he was nominated for the Teacher of the Year award.

Dean became a licensed architect in September of 2006. Upon passing the exam, he developed a method to assist other architects in passing the California Supplemental Exam. He discussed the test with many other architects and found that the majority of those taking the California Supplemental Exam did not know how to attack and answer the questions. He found that this was the case despite the experience level or knowledge of the test taker. Thus, Dean began to develop a method for passing the test.

Over a period of one year, he developed his seminar. He then utilized a sample group of test takers to help them prepare for the test. During this one-year period, he perfected his seminar method and held his first seminar in September of 2007. Since then, he has helped many fellow architects pass the California Supplemental Exam.
